If you ask Puja how she found crochet, she’ll tell you it started as a way to reduce screen time. The irony? Her screen time didn’t go down, it just got filled with crochet tutorials instead. Somewhere between graduating, having too much free time, and wanting to work with her hands, crochet quietly became her thing.
A designer and writer by training, Puja has always been drawn to hands-on work. The kind that lets you either completely zone out or lock in deeply,depending on the day. Crochet, with its repetitive, meditative rhythm, gives her both. It’s less about rushing to the final product and more about enjoying the act of making itself.
True to her love for fashion, her very first crochet piece wasn’t a coaster or a scarf--it was a very wonky, bright orange mesh top. And honestly, that says everything you need to know about her approach: playful, experimental, and unafraid to start where the excitement is.
Designing the Bucket Hats
For this collaboration, Puja went full design-school mode. Research, trend analysis, colour palettes, sketches, and then prototyping,every step thoughtfully considered before the first stitch was even made. The bucket hats are crafted using cotton and cotton–acrylic blends, chosen specifically to hold shape without feeling stiff, and built using foundational crochet stitches.
Once the pattern is locked, each hat takes about 4–5 hours to make. No shortcuts, no machines,just time, intention, and a lot of care in every loop.

Why Handmade Still Matters
What sets these pieces apart from mass-produced hats isn’t just that they’re handmade,it’s that they look handmade in the best way. Cozy, tactile, and full of little details that quietly tell you a human being sat down and made this just for you. Crochet doesn’t allow for automation, and Puja leans into that fully, doubling down on the warmth and character that only handcraft can bring.
A Very Limited Little Club
With only 10 bucket hats in this drop, the collection feels intentionally small;almost like a secret club. And if you’re lucky enough to own one, you’re not just buying a hat.
